I know for sure that there were people that honestly earned the 30,000 steps per day during the last challenge. It takes total commitment, but it's do-able. I lost 10 lbs during the last month because of the Challenge.

A comment to Karen, I know your frustration! I finally gave up on using it on my waist and put it on my shoe. After getting blisters from having it on my shoe, I used my dog's collar and attached the pedometer and strapped it to my ankle! It looks funny, but who cares if it is improving my health? When I started in January I was struggling to get 7,000 steps a day. I usually acquire that with no problem now, unless I forget to put it on and leave it at home!!! My goal is to acquire at least 10,000 steps a day which I am trying to do by getting up and walking while working on my computer since I spend so much time on it for work!

I'm doing one of the company-wide challenges right now and that's motivating. I'm still in disbelief that people are walking 30,000 steps a day - that's about 10 miles! But it has gotten me walking more. I walk at lunch, I wear my pedometer when I work out, and sometimes I just march/run in place to get more steps.

This has change my life so much, I've lost over 10 pounds in the past month by exercising more and changing my eating habits. I can't walk enough i walk to lunch instead of driving!!!Thanks HealthMiles!

Great tips in the video.

I just want to let you know that HealthMiles has really made a difference in my life. I've lost over 10 pounds in the past month by exercising more and changing my eating habits. Thanks HealthMiles!

Shelley,

You may need to adjust the stride length on your pedometer. I was having the same problem. If you still have the packaging from your GoZone it tells you how to adjust the stride length so that it picks up all of your steps.

what is the cost to join Curves and what is the monthly discount?

Thanks for sharing your concerns about the HealthZone kiosks. We do try to proactively monitor HealthZones; when certain kiosks show little or no usage, we contact the site to find out why, and determine if it needs to be serviced. But if you see any type error message please let us know immediately (healthmiles@virginlifecare.com or 866-VLC-6898).

Regarding calibration, the body fat reader shouldn’t need to be adjusted after it’s initially installed. If the kiosk you’re using is located in a sunny area, it might be picking up outside light. Try to squish the reader into the fleshy part of your arm (until the perimeter of the reader is completely touching your skin) so no sunlight can sneak into the sides and be picked up by the sensor.

If you still think it’s not working properly, please feel free to give us a call and we’ll do what needs to be done to fix it!

Karen

I like the video, but no matter where my pedometer is located on my waist, it does not consistently pick up all my steps throughout the day. I have walked a mile and my pedometer only picked up about 700 steps; this is very frustrating.

I also question the accuracy of the kiosks. How and How often are they calibrated?

Jeffery Birt

None of the kiosks I've visited are even vaguely accurate with respect to the body fat measurement. How are these calibrated, and how often are they checked to make sure they are functioning properly?
